Nine New Thai Airlines Set to Take Flight

Nine new Thai airlines are gearing up to start operations, signaling the nation’s anticipation of a sustained recovery in leisure travel. With an expected influx of about 35 million foreign visitors this year, the tourism-reliant country is preparing for increased air travel demand.

Expansion of Aviation Market

These new airlines, such as Really Cool Airlines and Siam Seaplane, are ready to launch services, potentially contributing to the expansion of Thailand’s aviation market. Some carriers will focus on regional and domestic flights, while others may offer international routes, adding diversity to the country’s air travel options.

Government’s Tourism Promotion

Thailand’s government is aiming to promote tourism in more provinces, with a target of attaining a trillion baht from domestic tourism and 2.5 trillion from foreign visitors. Despite challenges such as the impact of China’s slow economy on international travel, the country is taking steps to boost tourism, including the recent decision to waive visa requirements for Thai and Chinese citizens starting from March 1.
